 Pearl Resorts & Spa aims to offer guests the most authentic Polynesian experience possible. Specifically, at Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa, this includes traditional tattooing by native Polynesian tattoo artist Herenui “Here” Teriitehau.
Using the black ink traditional of Polynesian tattoos, Here creates tattoos according to client preference, always using state-of-the-art machinery and abiding by hygienic standards. Guests at Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa may reserve time with Here at his poolside booth, where he is available every day except Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Most tattoos require a minimum of one hour for application and they are applied either within the resort’s full-service Manea Spa or in the privacy of the guest’s room.

"Born in 1976 in Afaahiti, on the main island of Tahiti, Here was born into a family deeply ingrained in Polynesian culture, music and dance. At the age of 20, this cultural upbringing inspired Here to join the Tiki Village dance group on the island of Moorea, with whom he spent two years travelling and performing throughout Europe. Upon his return to French Polynesia, he quickly learned the art of tattooing from a friend and fellow tattoo artist. In 2001, Here opened his first tattoo salon in Haapiti, a village on Moorea, and joined Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa four years later, in October 2005". |
